Flying career:
Dani sat at the controls of a helicopter for the first time in November 2010 during a trial flight with Airport Helicopter. Almost a year later, he decided to start training to become a PPL(H) private pilot. He successfully completed this in 2012 and received his CPL(H) commercial pilot license three and a half years later. Today he also has the mountain flight extension MOU(H) and the flight instructor license FI(H).
Education and profession:
Danis’ thirst for knowledge led him to study physics at ETH Zurich. Flying has a lot to do with aerodynamics, but knowledge of relativity theory or quantum field theory is (fortunately) not really necessary for obtaining a pilot's license. Danis' professional career initially took a direction away from aviation. He worked in IT for ten years and founded two start-ups during this time. He then decided to get a little more exercise in his everyday working life and opened a climbing and bouldering hall with friends. They still operate these today.
Hobbies and free time:
In his free time, Dani particularly enjoys traveling in the mountains. Be it for climbing or paragliding. Playing with wind and thermals has always fascinated him. He adds with a smile: “The disadvantage of this passion is that you suffer if you can’t find any updrafts and then have to walk back to the starting point.”
But Dani finally found the ultimate freedom in three dimensions in helicopter flying and especially when flying in the mountains. For him, this is the highest of emotions and a passion with addictive potential.
